Hitachi Construction Machinery UK empower employees to participate in CSR activities.

Tuesday, October 01, 2024

In September, 11 of our employees took part in the world’s biggest and best half marathon, the AJ Bell Great North Run, amongst 60,000 other runners taking on the route from Newcastle to South Shields. Each employee ran for various chosen charities, raising an outstanding total of £7,581!

We have also sponsored one of our employees Kane Thompson, HCMUK Installation Engineer Apprentice, by providing Spartan Fighting Arts Academy with MMA equipment. Kane commented, “MMA has always been more than just a sport for me; it’s a path to self-discovery and resilience. Training in MMA pushes my limits, both physically and mentally. Every session teaches me discipline, perseverance, and respect for my opponents. The sponsorship has allowed me to train in the best training equipment to make sure I’m getting the best out of every session; I appreciate it massively!”.

We regularly promote the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and employee engagement throughout the business, so as well as taking part in the Great North Run, our employees have donated in various ways such as the sponsorship of Newcastle City Juniors FC Under 11’s 2024-2026 training kits and the donation of £1,000 to our staff-voted headline charity Dementia UK in aid of World Alzheimer’s Day.
