At HCMUK, charity embodies our core values of integrity and people, reflecting our belief in supporting communities and enabling our team to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Since 2020, we have been proud to have donated £80,000 to national charities and organisations chosen by our staff. We have donated a share of £20,000 to 9 nominated charities each year. This initiative has always been close to our hearts and is something we have continued to do this year, committing to share £20,000, with all recipients, as always, selected by our team.

So far this year, we’ve donated to two of our nine chosen charities. We contributed £2,500 to the MS Research & Relief Fund, which they have already used to purchase new equipment. We also supported If U Care Share, contributing to The Sam Johnson Memorial Tournament, where we sponsored a group of colleagues to participate for the third consecutive year.

Our commitment to giving back extends beyond these donations. As well as supporting our employees Nationwide with their own personal fundraising activities, this year, ten of our North-East based team members are taking part in the Great North Run (GNR) for charity, with each of them proudly sponsored by HCMUK.

Additionally, in December, we plan to make ad-hoc donations of £100 to a food bank near each of our 14 depots, for the second year in a row, to support Christmas parcel initiatives, ensuring that we spread a little extra cheer during the festive season.

We will continue to donate to our nine nominated charities throughout the year including Lighthouse Construction Charity, Dogs Trust, Cancer Research UK, Dementia UK, Spaniel Aid, Tiny Lives and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We’re immensely proud of the impact we’ve made together and look forward to continuing this tradition of giving in the years to come.
